On 23 June 2014 the Polish Community Trust organised a surprise lunch for Ewa Fenn on the occasion of her resignation as President of Tauranga Regional Multicultural Council Inc. (TRMC).

For the past ten years the organisation, whose main purpose is to help new immigrants settle in the Tauranga region, has been a major part of her life. In 2004 she was elected Vice President; from 2007 until mid-2014 she was TRMC’s President.

After seven years of heading the organisation she is now refocussing but not retiring from Tauranga’s ethnic scene. “Now that my work at TRMC won’t take up that much of my time any more, I will be able to socialise more and spend more time with you [the Polish community].”

The Polish Community Trust and the local Polonia are looking forward to Ewa bringing in her ideas and tapping into her network of contacts.
