As part of the Twelve Days of Christmas celebrations at Tauranga's Historic Village, Mulicultural Tauranga held an international Christmas market at the Village Hall on Saturday, 17 December 2016, and invited various ethnic communities to take part. The Polish Community Trust took this opportunity to raise some funds with their popular cake sales.
"We have already built a reputation at the previous multicultural festivals. Our cakes and other Polish sweets sell like the proverbial hot cakes", says Treasurer Eva Niedzielski (pictured above). By the end of the event, which ran from 10am to 3pm, most of the home-made delicacies had sold. "All proceeds go towards running our Polish Language School", says Eva. Given the success, the Trust hopes that this Christmas market will be repeated next year.
